One of the services we provide is the manufacture of custom U-Bolts. A U-Bolt is measured as follows:

Diameter of the material
-
Inside width
-
Inside length
-
Type of bend
A correct order looks as follows:
7/8 x 3x 14-1/2 Round bend
Types of bend include..
-
Round bend (as to bend around a pipe)
-
Semi-round (slightly arched top) usually for GMC, Ford, and Internationals
-
Square (corners bent at 90 deg, with flat top) for bed tie downs and some older Fords and GMCs
-
Rounded corners (similar to square except larger rounder radius at bends.

Forged top. A bend where the crown of the u-bolt material is flattened before tempering. Also known as “Banded top”.

Special make - It is always best to provide what type of truck or application the U-Bolt is going to be used on as some manufactures use a proprietary bend
Kansas City Spring Works supplies, manufactures, re-manufactures and alters leaf-type springs for trucks from the Chevy S-10 to over-the-road tractors. We handle all the connecting parts and hardware, as well as the installation. We don’t manufacture springs in bulk; rather, we customize the vehicles suspension to fit the needs of the customer. We also pride ourselves on our production speed. Most jobs can be completed within two to four hours.
